The original Lamborghini Urus heralded the brand's entry into the current high-performance SUV sector, and the 2025 Urus takes a similar step into the brave new world of electricity. The new-for-2025 Urus SE has a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engine, which includes a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 for internal combustion and a 192-hp electric motor for the electric component. The greatest combined output is a whopping 789 horsepower. More than just a power grab, the hybrid powertrain smoothes out the torque curve, improving tractability. The modest 25.7-kWh battery pack allows for EV-only running, and while no official range estimates are available, Lamborghini suggests its European-spec rating will be 37 miles, which will likely be cut to about 21 miles in EPA testing. Otherwise, the Urus SE gets a slew of external visual and tech changes, including a restyled liftgate, front and rear diffusers, and a minimally revised interior that doesn't deviate too much from the previous gas-powered Urus. In summary, the Urus SE retains all of Lamborghini's aggressive styling and swagger—packaged in a four-door SUV body—but adds EV-only operation and a more adaptable torque curve. For purchasers who aren't ready for a hybrid Lamborghini, the Urus S and Urus Performante will remain intact until 2025, but this will be their final model year.
