A research team at CDE led by Asst Prof Wang Lei (Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering) have developed a groundbreaking method to turn carbon dioxide emissions into valuable fuels and chemicals using electrochemical reduction.

The best part: Rather than needing high temperatures and extreme pressure, the conversion takes place under normal conditions, consuming far less energy than processes that are currently in use.

Developing clean and efficient ways to convert waste CO2 into useful, value-added chemicals could be a significant step in reducing emissions into the atmosphere and combating climate change.
