ABOUT POWER UP: GAME DEVELOPMENT BOOTCAMP
“Power Up: Game Development Bootcamp” is a training series organized by the Department of Science and Technology – National Capital Region (DOST-NCR) in partnership with Gridlock-Games Studio, set to run from July to October 2025. This bootcamp is designed to build the capabilities of students, startups, and aspiring professionals interested in launching a career or business in the digital games industry across various platforms.
The bootcamp will feature sessions led by industry experts, offering insights on both the creative, marketing and strategic aspects of game development. It will provide participants with practical knowledge, real-world industry practices, and opportunities to develop their own projects under guided mentorship. More than just technical training, the bootcamp aims to cultivate a strong and collaborative game development community by encouraging networking, peer learning, and potential startup formation. By the end of the program, participants are expected to develop working game prototypes, viable game business concepts or startup-ready pitch decks. They will also gain the skills, confidence, and connections to pursue further opportunities in this field.
General Objective:
To empower aspiring game developers and entrepreneurs by providing comprehensive training, mentorship, and networking opportunities that enable them to create innovative game projects, build viable business concepts, and establish strong networks within the digital games industry
Specific Objectives:
1.To foster software and game development competencies among at least one hundred (100) Filipino youth and emerging professionals;
2.To promote innovation and creativity in the technology sector;
3.To support the development of at least five (5) new games that can qualify into the "DOST Level Up Esports Game Development Challenge;" and
4.To establish and cultivate at least three (3) new strategic linkages within the esports and game development ecosystem.
