"Vivienne was the original punk and she was deeply radical throughout, and I think that her free thinking is something that's come through to me completely in this, and that is shown in everything. It's embodied in everything that we have on view here. Because she was never constrained by rules, she would say what she thought she would take things and make her own assessment. She was not going to be driven by anybody else."

"Vivienne studied historical construction. Historicism was a huge part of her oeuvre in the second half of her career. And the appreciation of history has been has been amazing. So the technical details, she identified the 18th century is a real high point of craftsmanship and design, and that's referenced throughout. And so the standard, the quality is something that, it's not just the overall look and the design, but the detail. It's there at every level."
