In Doctor Strange issue 4, Roxnor, the chief thaumaturge of the Majesdanians, orchestrates the kidnapping of the legendary dwarf Eoffren from Nidavellir to acquire powerful magic weapons capable of destroying worlds. Doctor Strange and Kanna embark on a daring rescue mission, infiltrating Eoffren's workshop only to face off against Roxnor and his forces.

As the confrontation escalates, Doctor Strange makes a bold decision to protect his allies by leaping off a cliff, leading to a dramatic showdown with Roxnor. Despite their best efforts, they are ultimately outmatched, forcing Kanna to use her technowand to teleport Doctor Strange and Eoffren to safety.

However, Roxnor recognizes Kanna's skill and potential, enlisting her to develop a weapon capable of devastating the Earth.

In Doctor Strange issue 5, Stephen takes on the role of a blacksmith under Eoffren, one of the dwarves of Nidavellir, who teaches him how to smith magic. Strange learns to craft many magical tools and weapons, inventing new spells and rediscovering lost ones. Kanna contacts him, informing Stephen that she's on Roxnor's ship, where she's being forced to build weapons for him. Roxnor plans to destroy Earth, so Stephen quickly builds what Eoffren thinks is the Sword of Strange, but Stephen reveals it to be a scalpel-sword. He uses it to slice through space and time, creating a portal to Roxnor's ship.

On the ship, Roxnor's crew positions themselves near the Sun to witness the warhead they fired at Earth destroy the planet. Stephen defeats the guards and confronts Roxnor, pinning him against a window. Stephen demands the warhead be deactivated, but it's already been deployed. Grabbing Kanna, Stephen heads to a ship to intercept the warhead. Roxnor sends men after them, but Kanna maneuvers skillfully. Stephen casts a spell on the ship, instructing Kanna to fly in a specific pattern, creating a huge version of his Sorcerer Supreme symbol, which swallows the missile into a portal.

Returning to Roxnor's ship, Stephen confronts Roxnor, who awaits death. Stephen reveals his lifelong oath: to never mistreat or intentionally hurt anyone, with the caveat that "do no harm" depends on the context. Slicing a hole in reality, he throws Roxnor back to his homeworld. With the Earth safe, Stephen knows he's ready to return home.
