This video shows footage from Operation Cottage, the joint American-Canadian landing on the island of Kiska in the Aleutian Islands. The troops landed on August 15 1943 but their Japanese enemy had abandoned the island weeks prior to the landings.

This is stunning footage of an other worldly island.
