Four layers reduction linocut by Milena Olga “La Llorona”

Описание к видео Four layers reduction linocut by Milena Olga “La Llorona”

Hello everyone and welcome new ones! Here my representation of “La Llorona”, a mythical entity that everyone knows. In each Latin American popular culture she is represented in different forms and the history varies. But the most famous is the Mexican one (Saludos a mis vecinos mejicanos, maestros además de la gráfica🇲🇽🫶🇨🇺).

Reductive linocut is a block printing method in which each layer of color is taken from the same block. More linen is removed from the block for each layer and each color is printed on top of the last. Due to this, only one series can be done. It is carved and loses part of the design in each layer. This reductive linocut “La Llorona” was made in 4 layers. In a unique series of 35 copies.

Here you can see the design, carving and printing process. And the most important point of this technique, how to use the registration or guide so that each printed layer matches each other. Below I leave the link to the registration pins that I use.

If you want to know more about me and my work you can visit my website https://milinoink.com/. I am also on social media as Milinoink.

It is a pleasure to read what you think and answer any questions. I hope you enjoy the process and thank you again for being here!❤️
