June trip to Germany 🇩🇪 part 1 - Düsseldorf

This was one of those trips that I didn't quite plan. The selection process went along the lines of: "Hey, Website, what are tue cheapest return flights I can get from my local airport for these dates?" and lo and behold, the said Website has spat out the flights to Düsseldorf! Tue hotel I booked was really nice as well, and for a decent price, too - surprising, really, seeing that Germany was gearing up to host Euro 2024 football competition (something that I didn't know about because I don't follow that sport at all!). I think I got lucky with the timing as the Euros were starting few days after I left 🤭 Which most likely explains the decent price I got.

This was my first time in Germany. Although I would have preferred to have gone to somewhere a bit "meatier" like Berlin, I might have done so if I had more time, or more finds, yadda yadda. But I'm not sneezing at the time I spent in the place I spent it in, as I thoroughly enjoyed the country, practiced my almost non-existent German, and loved the people (and the food!).

For those of you who have been to Düsseldorf in any shape or form will find that this video might feel a little...disjointed when it comes to the places I visited. This is because this is a combination of 2.5 days of my exploration, and just a fraction of what I've seen. Sadly I've discarded some places because...*drum roll* i haven't been paying attention to the camera that I've had sitting on the shoulder strap of my backpack. That's one of the things that I need to learn how to balance - pay attention to the camera (and so the footage), as well as actually be present in the moment and enjoy a new to me place.

Of course, as per usual for me fashion, I haven't been to Düsseldorf, either - I had a day trip to Cologne as well, but that's a story for another time 😉 And it's a story that will get posted, too, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
