Siding With the Mages and Killing Anders

My female mage Hawke makes her stand. Aggressive personality (with a heavy helping of diplomatic), Spirit Healer. Romanced Fenris, friendship path. Merrill, rivalry. Aveline, friendship. Varric, friendship. Sebastian, friendship. Isabela, rivalry. Anders, rivalry.

My character was mostly pro-mage, except for sending the Starkhaven mages back to the circle in an act of mercy. She did this because she knew that life on the run for a group such as them would be harder for them, and since there were known user of blood magic in the group, they would surely be executed if they ran. Maybe they could have a chance to live if they surrender.

But, she believes the Circle is abusive and broken and needs to change. She essentially agrees with Anders perspective in theory but disagrees strongly with his methods. She is a rival mainly because she didn't trust justice. As she said when he spoke to her many years ago: "Spirits aren't meant to inhabit living bodies, that's what demons do." She knows not all spirits are bad, but she is wary and knows that mages deal with much more danger than many of her fellows would dare to admit.

Despite being a bit mistrustful of other people, she does try to go out of her way to find a peaceful solution if she can. But, it appears a peaceful solution is not an option here. So, she chooses to stand with her kind, preventing them from suffering from the actions of one zealot she thought of as a compatriot despite their differences of opinion. And having to fulfill his last request is one of the hardest things she has ever had to do.
