The India–Nepal border has been put on alert following violent Gen-Z-led protests in Nepal that left 16 people dead and dozens injured. Sources told ANI that the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which guards the 1,751 km-long border, has intensified vigilance to prevent any spillover of unrest into Indian territory. Officials clarified that the alert is “preventive in nature” and the situation remains under control. The protests erupted after Nepal’s government blocked 26 popular social media platforms, sparking anger over restrictions on free speech and widespread corruption. Thousands stormed parliament in Kathmandu, leading to clashes with security forces and injuries to several demonstrators receiving treatment at hospitals.
