Today we'll be doing a review of the Camco Power Grip RV Power Cord Adapter Plug at 125 volt with a 30 amp female to a 15 amp male connection, part number CAM55223. Let's go over a few features of this adapter plug. This here has your standard fifteen amp plug that you'd find in any outlet in your house or you could use a power generator, you plug it into the fifteen amp outlet. This side here has a female for a thirty amp RV style connection. I'll use this adapter cord here as a demonstration for you. This would be the end on your camper or RV in a thirty amp. So you would simply plug this into your standard fifteen amp household outlet and then plug your adapter cord or your extension cord from your RV, camper, motor home into it. You would be limited only to fifteen amps going to your camper, RV, motor home, so you must remember that. A lot of times you won't be able to run your air conditioner or whatnot with that, but you'll be able to use the lights and the smaller things in your RV, camper, motor home that don't require a lot of power. This also works really well if gone for a long weekend, you come home, want to clean your camper up in your house. Simply plug this into your household outlet, connect into it, and recharge your batteries, clean out the camper, run the lights and not run your batteries down completely.

This is a good feature to have just for around the house and in case you get to an RV park that, say all of the big camp spots are taken, there's no thirty amp plugs or even fifty amp where you could step down to this thirty amp. You could still plug into a standard fifteen amp outlet and run your basic stuff in it. Again, you probably won't run your air conditioner, maybe even your heater depending on your circumstances, but you would be able to at least power the basics to it. Let's go ahead and go over a few items on the generator. I'll show you how this would work. This here will be just using our fifteen amp style outlet. This particular one is a twenty amp, but it's going to be still limited to what our adapter plug is.

Simply just line up the two blades and then the prong. You would plug it in, run your generator this way if that's the the way you've got to go. You could also say if this was a standard household outlet it would be same scenario. Just plug it in and then you would take your RV style thirty amp plug and just simply attach it like that. Again, you would be limited just down to whatever the outlet is, which in this case would be twenty. But it is still a fifteen amp adapted. So you would be limited to fifteen amps coming through.

It's not the best case for every weekend, but if this is all you've got, this will work. It'll get you power to your camper, RV. Now this style plug is not a twist lock on this. Sometimes on an RV with the vibration and stuff it may work loose a little bit. So ideally you would use this on a household style plug. But it can be used on an RV. With that, that'll conclude our review of the Camco Power Grip RV Power Cord Adapter Plug at 125 volt with a 30 amp female connection to a 15 amp male connection, part number CAM55223..
