Part of Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve, Star Mine was the last of the series of coal mines that ceased operations around 1902. In the latter of this video is Prospect Tunnel which was bored in the 1860s by miners searching for commercial grade coal. It is 400 feet in length and the first 200 feet is open to un-guided exploration.
