This Northeast Arkansas Motorcycle Ride is FILLED with History | Discovering the Delta Ep. 02

Arkansas is the hidden gem of the Southern United States for great motorcycle rides and destinations. Today's ride through the Natural State takes us to a historical region of Northeast Arkansas via the Five Rivers Rumble motorcycle ride.
- Our first stop is the Davidsonville Historic State Park, which was once a township located along. the banks of the Black River. It's the site of the first post office, the first federal land office, and the first Arkansas courthouse. The town was abandoned, but through preservation efforts and metal "ghost buildings," the state of Arkansas has given visitors a way to "step back in time" at Davidsonville.
- Another stop along this route is the first public school in Arkansas, located in Halls Creek Canyon. We'll only get a glimpse of it in this, though.
- Just up the highway, you'll find the Rice Upshaw House and settlement. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it's the oldest known standing structure in the state of Arkansas.
- Pocahontas, a historic town along the banks of the Black River, is home to one of the largest National Historic Districts in the state. It still features its original victorian Courthouse at the center, surrounded by plenty of new eateries, like the Buttercream Bakery.
- After a morning and early afternoon of riding motorcycles through rolling hills of farmland, we head back to Crowley's Ridge State Park to go swimming and cool off in the Summer heat, before heading to Jonesboro for dinner.
- Jonesboro has plenty of eateries to choose from, but Roots sparked my interest due to it's unique food philosophy. Combining traditional Southern cultures with the local Delta Region, as well as their ties to Ecuador, their food alone is worth the motorcycle ride to the Delta!
