UK PM Keir Starmer has backed the growth of India's economy and indirectly rebutted Trump's 'dead economy' jibe. UK PM Starmer arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday for his first official visit to India, accompanied by the largest-ever trade delegation from the UK. In a post on X, Starmer said that growth for British businesses in India “means more jobs for people at home." Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Starmer’s visit as a 'historic first' & expressed optimism about deepening the India-UK strategic partnership. The two leaders will meet in Mumbai on Thursday and attend a key forum and advance cooperation in areas like trade, clean energy, and education. Both sides will also assess progress under the 'Vision 2035' roadmap, a long-term blueprint for collaboration in innovation, defence, climate action, and economic growth.
