Bally | Scribe - The Making Of

Inspired by the Hotel Scribe in Paris, a favorite of our founder's grandson Max Bally, the Scribe collection is handcrafted in Switzerland.

Since its launch in 1951, on the occasion of Bally's 100th anniversary, the Scribe has been regarded as the highest expression of craft heritage and know-how, involving around 200 production steps executed by skilled artisans.

All Scribe shoes come with a quality guarantee, and can be resoled and reconditioned as part of the Scribe Renewal Program. We also offer renewals and repairs on other shoes, ready-to-wear items and accessories. In 2022 we extended the lifecycle of 920 products.
