The History of Acrylic Paint & Golden MSA Paints

Описание к видео The History of Acrylic Paint & Golden MSA Paints

Acrylics are probably newer than you think, and they weren't always as friendly to work with. Today I look at the history of Acrylic Paint and how it went from a petroleum product to a water based one.

UPDATE!: Thanks the generous staff at Golden Artist Colors and their Creative Director Chris Farrell for tossing some additional history my way. Bocour and Golden's Paint line was known as Magna Acrylics (which is nearly identical to that of the modern Golden MSA paint) but was sold in tubes rather than jars. The Magna Paint was sold up through the 1970s and even became the means for artists like Barnett Newman and Roy Lichtenstein to continue buying from Golden when the Magna paints stopped being produced. Additionally the Aquatec acrylics are still a known brand in European markets.
