Terrain Map on CNC

Описание к видео Terrain Map on CNC

The terrain locations that I carve on the CNC are:
Grand View Point, Moab Utah: https://goo.gl/maps/pC3gmSQ1oZY352ZbA

Castle Valley, Utah: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Cas...

Using a Genmitsu 3020 Pro Max CNC has been a great experience. In this project I show off my newly build custom enclosure which came from an inspiration of the video by James Dean:    • 3018 PRO - Building an enclosure

Another important learning video from James Dean was how to tune your settings on your CNC Machine:    • 3018 PRO - Tuning GRBL settings

Once you realize that you just carved away your zero point on your model, you will appreciate the knowledge in this video on Zeroing your machine:    • Bed Or Material Surface? Where to Zer...

Steve Potter gives a very complete introduction into how to carve terrain models with the use of the TouchTerrain website. He also provides excellent tutorials on the features of the Vcarve software by Vectric:    • Terrain Carving CNC Tutorial by Steve...

Some of my notes in this video are summarized here:

Benefits to Making an Enclosure for your CNC

1. Reduces Noise
2. Direct connection for Vacuum
3. Electronics on the outside
4. Lights, Fan, and Stop controls location

Lessons Learned

1. Get accurate Bit data from manufacture into Tool database
2. No Edges on model, risk of burning from chuck
3. Fried Controller Board from step motor connector pull out
4. Safe Z setting
5. Take a picture of your Zero location, so you can return to it after a machine reset
6. Using the Machine Bed as your zero for Z
