The area of Argimusco, in Montalbano Elicona (Sicily) is characterized by many large rock structures resembling various human and animal forms. The megaliths are in relation with the constellations, not in alignment as in other megalithic sites in the world, but as a reflection of the same constellations. In particular, all the constellations put on the horizon are reflected "tapping" on the ground almost its megalithic doubles on Argimusco.
Using the program "Stellarium" or other similar PC programs anyone can verify the precise coincidence between the megaliths and the constellations after sunset during the months of May, June and July between 1300 AD and 1700 AD. (and still today). The constellations coincide order of ten of ten (Swan, Arrow, Eagle, Snake, Ophiuchus, Virgin, Leo, Crow, Hydra and Crater), and are placed in the same order and sequence, with the exception of a constellation in the south (Pound) covered from view by the majestic profile of Mount Etna.. At the entrance there are, then, other "signatures" of the authors of the site. Those megaliths are the perfect reproduction of symbols (Pelican, Owl, Alchemical vessel, etc..) of the secret Christian medieval Rosicrucian Brotherhood of which we have evidence up to the whole 1700. Documents of 1282, 1308 and 1352 declares that the site was part of the Aragonese kings court and, in particular, of Frederick III of Aragon, who sent from Argimusco its diplomatic documents. The doctor of Frederick was Arnold of Villanova. Arnold was the most famous alchemists of medieval Europe, who would be buried in the Castle of Montalbano. Arnold would cure Frederick, not only with the healthy waters of the place, but also with the legendary "Philosopher's Stone", for the production of which he was famous. Geographical maps of 1600 and 1700 indicate the importance of the site as a city of medium importance. Local nobles, alchemists, and, according to local legend, witches would have frequented places. The site functions site would be linked to the mysterious - but well documented - Rosicrucians practises for the complete regeneration of the physical body.
Even today, eleven constellations are reflected on the megaliths of the site after dark, in the warm evenings between May and July. According to some, the Argimusco is still active as a giant talisman for the rejuvenation of the body. Who does not believe in legends can, however, enjoy the sites and breathtaking views nestled among tall megaliths, so those truly "magic".
