Just like with the Isle of Armour you head to the Crown Tundra (basically Scotland) on a train, and have your Pokédex updated immediately.
The Crown Tundra definitely feels more developed as a DLC. Kubfu to Urshifu was the focus of Isle of Armour, here we have Calyrex, but the Regis make an appearance, with a choice between two new ones, and the Legendary Birds also appear with new Galarian forms. There's also many legendaries/mythicals/ultra beasts bundled into the Dynamax Adventure.
There aren't many new Pokémon outside these Legendaries (just Galarian Slowking) but a lot of old Pokémon return, and plenty of favourites including more Pseudos and starters.

You're introduced to two characters Peony and his daughter (Peo)nia, who will appear throughout the stroy here. Peony challenges you to a battle straight away. Volcarona leads my party, and is able to take out Copperajah, but falls to the Aggron. Urshifu finishes it off. He mentions the Max Lair.
There's a lot of Ice types for Volcarona to obliterate here, so explore around and then head to the Max Lair.

Inside you'll be taught about Dynamax Adventures and find a shop that trades handy items for Dynite Ore.

Try a Dynamax Adventure and pick a Pokémon. I'm not sure if this one is randomised, but I opt for Relicanth. The AI is pretty good at using support moves like Accupressure, so you may as well pick the offensive Pokémon and go all out. The Oranguru did pretty decently, but the Tsareena didn't. I swapped the Tsareena knowing the last Pokémon was Water type and took out a Diggersby rather easily next.

Suicune is the final challenge. Max Overgrowth takes it out in a few turns and of course out all the Pokémon here, I keep the Suicune. A good thing is, you can use whichever Pokéball you like to capture it. The last Pokémon will always be a Legendary on Dynmax Adventures. You find Peonia here. I trade my Dynite Ore for XP Candies, which is probably the most useful thing for someone not looking to tweak abilities/stats in all honesty.

You'll head off on an adventure with Peony with Peonia staying for more Dynamax Adventures. Head to Freezington to learn about a King of Bountiful Harvests and take all the loot you can, paying attention to the statue. You'll find a pair of footprints by the house Peony is staying at.

He'll give you three Legendary Clues that we'll investigate throughout the course of the DLC, the first relating Calyrex, the second is very obviously the Regis, and the third the Legendary birds. This starts, "The Sacred Bonds of Sovereign and Steed!"

Head S and you can begin investigations. I catch a Dynamax Coalossal nearby and head back to investigate Peony's "pillow", the Wooden Crown which is missing from the nearby statue. This awakens Calyrex and it asks you to follow it, and challenges you to a battle. It has an unknown level, but it's Grass/Psychic, so 4x weak to Bug Buzz which one shots it.

It tries to cmmunicate with you, but fails. However Peony walks by, and being a Psychic type, it uses Peony to communicate to you. It thanks you for restoring its statue and asks for your help. Speak with the villagers and they won't believe that Calyrex is real. It then mentions its steed.

Head to the mayor's house and two of the villagers will mention he went off, and a note confirms he went to the Giant's Bed. The fields here are also barren. Explore the area for more treasure and any Pokémon you wish to capture. I find a Beldum and then immediately find a Metang after capturing it. These will be hard to catch thanks to their extremely low catch rate, but I get both in under 10 round each I opt for a seond Beldum for a better nature. The Metang was modest. Naughty is decent enough. I swap out Dragapult. Metagross is similar to Excadrill in a way, but will be used differently. I give this Beldum all my Candies and evolve it then end the part teaching it new moves. Meteor Mash/Bullet Punch/Zen Headbutt/Rock Slide is the moveset for now.
