3 Days Solo Bushcraft Canoe Trip - The Beach - Sleeping Under the Stars - Catch and Cook

Out with the Canoe for three days. Some bushcraft and cooking. A lot of people ask how I can store fresh and semi fresh food while out several days in the wilderness. In winter of course no problem but in summer you have to eat pork or chicken the first day. Sometimes I put for example a chicken in the freezer for a couple of hours before departure. Then you can eat it the next day. Smoked stuff like bacon and sausages last a couple of days with some aid. I store it in a rubberized bag in plastics. Also you can use salt, sugar, lemon etc as preservative. In the night I put it in a creek or the water. Put stones on the bag and you have fridge cold most of the year. This time I discovered that you can put the bag with food in the stern of the canoe. I pulled it up on land except the stern that I kept in the water. Nice and cool spot for the food during the night. It was very hot in the days and all food kept fresh and smelled nice the entire trip. The mushrooms looked a bit sad though but tasted as normal.

Who can guess why I put up the lavvu poncho the way I did in the first camp? UPDATE:Andrew Hibbard guessed it! Sunblock for when the sun comes up in the east at 3.30 AM.

Any ridiculous comments about me being "wrong" catching and eating a fish in the Swedish wilderness will result in immediate blocking on this channel. I will not ever be able to see your comments again.

Thanks a lot for watching!
