THE LOST LAND: THE LAST HOPE OF HUMANITY
follows a college professor who is forced to confront a painful chapter of his past when a student asks him a simple question about land degradation. Years ago, he was an active member of his village’s eco-club, protesting with his best friend against the arrival of Nova, a metal-extraction company that falsely promised “development.” They knew the factory would destroy their land, but during the protest the owner bribed the teacher. In a moment of weakness, he accepted—betraying his friend, his values, and the land he vowed to protect. The factory was built, the soil was ruined, and the teacher carried the guilt for years. In the present, unable to bear the weight of his mistake, he takes his students to the damaged site and plants a sapling, hoping for a new beginning. He meets his old friend, admits his betrayal, and expresses his wish to heal what he once helped destroy, ending with the reminder that when the land is lost, humanity’s hope disappears with it.
