As the concept of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) gains popularity, environmental protection and social responsibility gradually play an elevated role in education. This talk offers insights on how schools and restructuring education can develop strategies to take better care of our planet while also enhancing the educational curriculum, namely student’s practical abilities. Fursey is a life long educator and he brings this passion to every speech and presentation he makes.

His education includes a BFA and MFA in Fine Arts from the University of Texas in Austin and a Masters in Educational Administration from Lamar State University.

Fursey’s journey has taken him on multicultural trips around the world including a 3 year stay in Shanghai where he taught Shakespeare to students from around the world. He has worked extensively with students of all ages ranging from kindergarten to university creating workshops and presentations that captures the imagination of all participants. His experience teaching speech and theatre for over 30 years gives him incredible insight into weaving curriculum, story, and inspiring messages into entertaining presentations dotted with humor and passion.

Fursey has called Texas home for almost 40 years. He speaks at his parish of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and enjoys brining scripture to life.

Of particular interest to Fursey is the field of Positive Psychology, including the Clifton StrengthsFinder. He has trained hundreds of teachers and thousands of students on how to leverage their talents to go from good to great!

He has participated in the Toastmasters Speech Contests winning at many levels in several different categories. He is currently competing at the World Championship of Public Speaking.
