Why Does ANYONE Like Bojack Horseman?

So...this is an obvious question that no one really seems to ask. Why does anyone who watches this show actually like this character? Why do we sympathize with him? Why do we want him to succeed? Not accusing anyone, as I'm EXTREMELY guilty of sympathizing and feeling pity for Bojack, but still...it vexes me

It's a real mystery, considering everything we've seen him do. In real life, without the context we're given in the show, a lot of people would immediately write him off and "cancel" him. So why don't they do the same for this character? This video is meant to explore why, as it's a question I've always wanted answered myself.
