Chevrolet has unveiled the new Corvette ZR1 just outside Miami at the Concours Club. This model boasts the most powerful V8 ever produced by an American auto manufacturer. With astonishing specifications – including 1,064 horsepower, 828 lb-ft of torque, and over 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed – the Corvette ZR1 also pays tribute to the career of Corvette Executive Chief Engineer, Tadge Juechter.

Juechter, who is set to retire this summer after a remarkable 47-year tenure with General Motors, with 31 of those years dedicated to the Corvette, is honored with a special graphic on the rear glass of the Corvette ZR1 coupe. This icon, located on the top left of the ZR1’s split rear window, acknowledges Juechter’s significant contributions to the Corvette throughout his career.

“Every day for nearly five decades, Tadge made our vehicles and our company better. His career culminates in the fastest, most powerful Corvette ever,” said GM President Mark Reuss. “The ZR1, along with all future Corvettes, will display this symbol to commemorate his immense contributions and celebrate his legacy forever.”

Starting with the Corvette ZR1, this appreciation icon will also appear on the 2025 model year Corvettes and beyond. It will be found on the front windshield glass and front tunnel reinforcement panel of every Corvette Stingray, Z06, E-Ray, and ZR1. Juechter’s legacy follows that of Zora Arkus-Duntov, the first chief engineer of Corvette, whose symbol currently appears on all production Corvette windshields.
