Delicious yam cake

Ingredients
430 g yam (cut into square pieces)
180 g shallot (finely chopped)
100 g dried shrimp (washed, soaked and drained)
500 g rice flour
2 tsp five spice powder
1 kg water
1 tbsp pepper powder
1.5 tsp salt
2 tbsp light soy sauce
0.5 stalk spring onion (finely chopped)
2 pieces red chilli (finely chopped)

Preparation
1. Finely chop the dried shrimp
2. Sift the rice flour into water. Then, add on the five spice powder, pepper powder, salt and light soy sauce.
3. Make sure the mixture is stirred well. Set aside.

Method
1. Deep fry the shallot until golden brown.
2. Set aside the fried shallot and left the oil in the wok.
3. fry the yam pieces over the high heat.
4. Add on some fried shallot and dried shrimp, fry until fragant.
5. Pour the flour mixture into the wok.
6. Add some fried shallot and keep stirring it to prevent sticking to the wok.
7. Remove the mixture when it is slightly thickened.
8. Add on some shallot oil on steamer.
9. Flat the mixture after add on the fried shallot and oil.
10. Steam the mixture for 50 minutes over high heat.
11. Garnishing with spring onion and red chilli.
12. Continue to steam for 15 minutes without cook lid.
13. Remove and cool the yam cake for at least 1 hour before cutting.
