Indian Super League’s (ISL) future is hanging in the balance — and 11 of its clubs want action now. They have written to All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Kalyan Chaubey, urging him to take the matter straight to the Supreme Court. If the federation doesn’t step in, the clubs say they are ready to go themselves. The trouble began when Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), the league’s organiser, pressed pause on the 2025-26 season. The reason? The Master Rights Agreement (MRA) between FSDL and the AIFF — signed in 2010 — is set to expire in December 2025. But a Supreme Court directive has stopped the AIFF from renegotiating until a verdict is delivered in the draft constitution case. With that order in place, the league and related competitions are stuck in limbo.
