Dr. Stanley Hart is a scientist emeritus in the Wood Hole Oceanographic Institute's Department of Geology and Geophysics. In this short video, he describes the process by which excess atmospheric CO2 is dissolved into the ocean and its implications for climate change. Dr. Hart has been elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and is the 13th recipient of the Arthur L. Day Prize and Lectureship, awarded by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences for making lasting contributions to the study of the physics of the Earth.
