Part 3 of our private fly-in island break to Azura Lodge on Benguerra Island.
Benguerra Island forms part of the Bazaruto Archipelago just off the coast of the Mozambican mainland.
ISLAND BLISS. Lapping ocean, excellent food, spoiled ( your have your own butler! ), breathtaking sunsets, long walks on deserted beaches, beach picnics, spa treatments, private plunge pools, private day beds, speed boats, island hopping, snorkeling, diving , and, and, and!!!
In this video, we share our last day at Azura Lodge. We had the most amazing full body massage in the spa - the treatment room is built like a treehouse.
We explored the other side of the island and walked for kilometers on almost deserted beaches. There are so many fresh water birds around on Benguerra Island! I also had the opportunity for one last swing on the swing in the ocean.
Our last night was such a spoil. Our room was romantically decorated with flower petals and candles and we had a private dinner on the beach in front of our casita, surrounded by palm leaves and the soft light of lanterns, whilst the ocean lapped almost at our feet. It can't get more romantic than that!
We opted for a helicopter ride to the mainland on our way back, and that was an excellent idea! The different shades of blue was unbelievable. The ocean water was so clear that you could see right to the bottom of the ocean floor, the channels between the sand banks clearly visible. It was like creating a colouring book of blues...
We landed on the mainland of Mozambique at Vilanculos International Airport, where our own small plane awaited us - reliable Mooney M20J!
Azura Lodge on Benguerra is definitely one of the top ten destinations in Mozambique, and definitely ranks top as a honeymoon destination.
It is romantic, offers so many different activities, and the standard of service is extremely high.
Definiteley a MUST on anyone's bucket list of destinations!
