Long awaited update - the road is open, well sort of. It's only open for cars and light vehicles. The diversion for lorries is still in place as the road is not suitable for them.
Homes England are still holding out on selling the contested piece of land which would make this all go away, while more and more houses are being built. The road is supposed to be opening by the end of the year - you make your own minds up as to whether this looks likely or not!
