मायावती ने अब देश में कोई भी उपचुनाव नहीं लड़ने का ऐलान करते हुए कहा कि बैलट से धांधली तो होती ही थी अब EVM से भी धांधली होने लगी। इसलिये बसपा ने यह निर्णय किया है कि वह देश के किसी भी राज्य में अब कोई भी उपचुनाव नहीं लड़ेगी। वहीं अखिलेश ने कहा है कि 'कुंदरकी में जिन लोगों को सरेआम वोट डालने से रोका गया या जिनके वोट किसी और ने डाल दिए, वो सब लोग अपने साथ हुए अन्याय को बताने के लिए लखनऊ की तरफ जारहे थे, क्योंकि स्थानीय स्तर पर उनकी कोई सुनवाई नहीं हो रही थी, इससे बीजेपी के चुनावी घपले का भंडाफोड़ हो जाता, इसलिए बीच रास्ते में ही लोगों को सीतापुर में पुलिस ने रोक लिया'
