Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par cleared by CBFC — but not without political edits? 👀🎬

The film was granted a U/A 13+ certificate after the Censor Board reportedly asked the makers to implement five key changes. Among them — adding a quote by PM Narendra Modi referencing India’s vision for 2047, and removing a scene featuring the word “kamal” (lotus) — which also happens to be the ruling party’s symbol. 🌸

Initially, Aamir Khan, who is also the producer, was reportedly unhappy with the suggested changes, and the film’s release went into limbo. Later, the Revising Committee, led by Waman Kendre, reviewed the film and suggested revisions — including replacing “Michael Jackson” with “Lovebirds” and “Business Woman” with “Business Person”.

After these edits, the film was cleared for release.

🎟️ Despite the controversy, the film has made a strong start — with ₹1.03 crore in advance bookings and over 39,000 tickets sold for Day 1!

🎥 Directed by RS Prasanna and also starring Genelia Deshmukh, Sitaare Zameen Par is being called a spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par.
