Population and Housing Censuses are the foundation of statistical systems, providing benchmark information to produce other statistics.

This year's population and housing census, will be solely done to the standard of the United Nations. Therefore, everyone must take part in the activity to give reasonable
and adequate data for efficient planning by any administration.

The 2023 population and housing census are important because, it'll give the government adequate information about - population characteristics, household and housing characteristics including and not limited to the conditions of housing, its structural characteristics, sources of drinking water, sources of energy, etc.

Availability of facilities such as schools, health, ICT, financial institutions, will equally be affected.

The following unique features of the 2023 PHC is expected to capture standard of housing and households such as:
Fertility rate.
Mortality rate.
Sanitation.
Climate change.

The 2023 population and housing census is called the
