In this video Christina McElfresh tells us about her home known locally as the "Mansion of Monroe". Although from the street it looks like a standard Ranch style home, it has a much deeper and interesting history. The home was built by Lloyd DeHart who had a concession stand at LeSourdsville Lake near Monroe. The home was later sold to Howard Berni who owned LeSourdsville Lake. Once the Berni family took possession of the home, they put an 800 square foot addition onto the house. It now has over 5,000 square feet with with six bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Famous movie stars would visit the home while performing at LeSourdsville. They include Dick Clark, Donna Douglas, John Aston and the McGuire Sisters.
