A Stakeholders Conference on Assisting Afghan Media Practitioners in Pakistan was held in Islamabad on 29 April 2024. The conference discussed issues and challenges exiled Afghan journalists face in Pakistan after left Afghanistan to escape persecution at the hands of Taliban regime after they took over Kabul on 15 August 2021. The conference was part of Reporters Without Borders advocacy work to seek Pakistan government, the international community support through representative embassies in Islamabad and the UN systems, including UNHCR.
