DETACHED

Not hurting. Not healing. Just gone without leaving.

I stopped explaining myself when I realized nobody listens —
not out of malice, just habit.

Need less.

Routine handles the body.
The mind stays out of the way.
I show up.
I function.
Nothing more.

Faces blur.
Voices flatten.
Names evaporate the second they leave a mouth.
Recognition requires interest —
I don’t have any left.


I’m not broken, I’m detached.
Not drowning — just not swimming.
Not gone — just uninterested in returning.

You call it cold.
I call it quiet.


I watch people cling to meaning
like it’s a life vest that actually works.

I used to reach too.
Now my hands stay still.
Reach implies hope,
and hope demands energy
I no longer waste.

Food, sleep, time —
all background processes.
I exist by default,
not desire.

I stopped expecting anything.
Life runs smoother that way.


I don’t miss anyone.
I don’t chase anything.
I don’t argue, defend, or convince.
I don’t rewrite what’s already dead.

When people leave, I nod.
When they stay, I do the same.
Either way, nothing shifts.

Detached doesn’t mean I lost something.
It means I stopped pretending it mattered.

I’m not broken, I’m detached.
Not numb — just uninterested.
Not lonely — just done participating.

I didn’t fade.
I walked out from the inside
and left the version that functions.

Call it empty if you want.
I call it efficient.
