Flower City Square, known as the "city living room" in Guangzhou, is the largest square in Guangzhou. It has been open to the public since October 25, 2010.
The Plaza is located in the core node of Zhujiang New Town, the new central axis of Guangzhou City, starting from Xiancun road in the East, Huaxia Road in the west, Huangpu Avenue in the north and Haixinsha in the south.
The total planning area is about 560000 square meters, with more than 600 big trees and ancient trees planted, about two kilometers of walking wooden plank road and more than 15000 square meters of Floating Island Lake.
There are 39 buildings in the surrounding area, including the new Guangzhou Library, Guangzhou Grand Theater, Guangdong Provincial Museum, Guangzhou second children's palace, Guangzhou zhoudafu financial center, Guangzhou International Financial Center, etc.
Since 2011, Guangzhou International Lighting Festival has been held in Huacheng square at the end of each year. It is one of the three major lighting festivals in the world, along with France and Sydney.
