Getting the Best From: Ilford PAN F+ Pt 1

Описание к видео Getting the Best From: Ilford PAN F+ Pt 1

My name is John Finch. I've been a black and white film photographer and darkroom aficionado for over 50 years. My mission is to impart my knowledge to anyone and everyone who wants to develop their own film or wants to use a darkroom for developing film and printing. My book covers much of this from first steps for a beginner to more advanced topics that might suit a person coming back to wet photography. These videos cover some topics from my book and other themes that might help.

Please support my mission (and this channel) by buying my book from pictorialplanet.com and becoming a patreon for the cause at   / johnfinch

Do you want to get the very best from your film? I sure do.

In this video, I describe my technique to optimize Ilford PAN F+ and get negatives that will blow your socks off!

I show the entire process from start to finish using Extreme Minimal Agitation (EMA) with Pyrocat or 510-Pyro with plenty of tips thrown in along the way. If you want to make the very best negatives then this is the video for you.

Note: EMA is a phrase coined by Steve Sherman (who does EMA workshops in the USA) and Sandy King (formulator of Pyrocat). It describes semi-stand development with two or so agitation cycles. I have done my own experimentation to get the best negatives from PAN F+ using this technique, so my dilution and agitation timings probably differ from Steve's. I encourage you to check out Steve's workshops.

Next week I'll be looking at using the zone system with Extreme Minimal Agitation.
