...Source: Transcript: Per InsideEVs, Finnish startup Donut Lab says it’s about to release independent proof that its all-solid-state battery is real, after its big claims at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show sparked skepticism across the battery industry. Donut Lab says the pack was independently tested by Finland’s state-owned VTT Technical Research Centre, and it plans to roll out the results in a video series starting Monday, February 23, along with a new site aimed at critics: idonutbelieve.com.

If the numbers hold up, they’re disruptive: Donut Lab claims about 400 watt-hours per kilogram—well above today’s roughly 200 to 300—plus charging in under 10 minutes and an eye-popping claimed lifespan of 100,000 cycles. The company also says it avoids toxic or rare-earth materials and can operate from about -22°F up to 212°F.

Donut Lab says the battery is slated to appear in a Verge Motorcycles production model in the first quarter of this year, though Verge has warned new orders may not arrive until late this year or even next year due to limited early production.
