The Mahishasura Mardini Stotram is a prayer offered to Durga Devi, a form of the Divine Mother, for the slaying of the demon Mahishasura. During Navaratri specifically, we sing this praise to glorify the Divine Mother and remember that Her grace can destroy the ego (represented by Mahishasura) preventing us from reaching the Divine.

Mantras and bhajans are devotion in the form of music. In the relationship between the Lover
and Beloved, there exists only one experience, only one motivation, and only
one reality – Just Love.

The 'Bhakti Yoga Mantras' series showcases Bhakti Marga musicians performing
devotional kirtans and bhajans. Bhakti Marga is the international organization
and movement founded by Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda.
