John Cleese and Dennis Quilley star in this 1982 film adaptation of Peter Nichol’s play of the same name, directed by Michael Blakemore.
A fictional military entertainment group of soldiers known as the ‘Song and Dance Unit South East Asia (SADUSEA), are tasked with entertaining troops positioned in Malaysia and Singapore during the Malayan Emergency of the late 1940s. But in addition to dodging communist bullets, they have to contend with their loony, bible-bashing Major who poses much more of a threat than any of the other jungle inhabitants.
