New Implantable Heartburn 'Ring': What Physicians Should Know

The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) is one of just 13 U.S. surgery sites chosen to offer the LINX™ Reflux Management System, a new implantable magnetic "ring" that promises relief to the estimated 25 million American adults who suffer daily heartburn (GERD). The device won FDA-approval in late March.

In this video, renowned esophageal surgeon Jeffrey H. Peters, M.D., Seymour I. Schwartz Professor and chair of the Department of Surgery at URMC, discusses GERD complications, the promise of the LINX device, and inclusion/exclusion criteria for candidates.
