Tameka Yallop is one of the more experienced contingent of Australian players at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™. She has seen it all - from playing games in front of only a few hundred fans at the start of her career, to winning World Cup quarter-finals in front of 50,000 fans and millions more on television.

“For me, I guess, it did help me really focus in on what I was doing in that moment, and not paying attention to anything that was outside or that could distract me from that. So, I think it definitely does help you really focus on the important things.”

The quarter-final victory was arguably the biggest moment in Australian footballing history, that would only be eclipsed with success in the semi-final and final.
