The brothers Günther and Fritz Gebhardt are responsible for some of the most attractive C2 cars that appeared in the mid-1980s. I am thinking in particular of the JC83 and later the JC842 and JC843, seen in 1983 and 1984. At the end of the 80s, they disappeared momentarily from the endurance scene, before making a comeback with the C91. The idea was to produce a car capable of competing in the World Sports Car Championship and IMSA in the USA. The C91 was born, with a 5-cylinder turbocharged 2.1 litre Audi engine. It was allowed to start in the IMSA GTP class. It was seen in 1991 at Topeka, Watkin Glen and Road Amaerica. The debut was complicated: Gianpiero Moretti "Momo" drove the car himself and his best result was a 17th place in Topeka. For 1992, the ambition is to take the C91 to compete with the Peugeot 905, Toyota TS010 and other Porsche 962. In order to comply with the regulations banning turbo engines, a Ford Cosworth 3.5 litre V8 DFR block was fitted in place of the Audi block.
