Wingfoiling: Best Leash Set Up - Updated for 2023 - Liquid Blue Cabarete...

Charles here with Liquid Blue Cabarete and we are back in action! I made a video a few weeks ago explaining the hiatus though now we are back and going to be pushing forward with new educational and entertaining content for those who share the passions.

Roughly two years ago when I began Wing Foiling in Cabarete, I was given some ideas of "waist leash" alternatives as I was using a standard surf leash on my ankle though I realized it did get in the way when riding wether it was winging or prone foiling. I will put the two videos below so you can see the evolution of where I come from in terms of equipment and logic.

These two videos got some attention and managed to help out other wingers as well prone foilers that were on a budget get a solution that worked. As time has passed by and new equipment has been developed, after testing out the options myself I have concluded that upgrading the leash (40 USD Value) and the Waist Belt (60 USD Value) are not bad options in the long haul.

Wether you are just getting into the sport, intermediate or professional you can benefit from having your own waist belt and leash as it's a unique piece of equipment to you that can translate in my case across sports as well boards.

In my personal case I have only tested out the MANERA leash belt and foil leash. The belt I use in size M and the leash in size 4.5. I am 79kg~, waist size 31, 170cm~ and ride an F-ONE Surf Foil 4'6 33L for reference. Below I will link the exact belt+leash combo I use which totals around 100 USD~.

A side note is that the leash belt can also attach a hook at the front to use as a harness and be a connection point for your wing. Personally I do not do this though for some it is an additional benefit/value add.

I would recommend this set up to anyone who enjoys wing foiling and or prone foiling as the leash can be used on your waist belt or ankle.
