How to Grow Runner Beans in Pots | Scarlet Beans | Gardening for Beginners


Growing runner beans in a pot is a great way to enjoy fresh, home-grown produce even if you don't have a lot of outdoor space. To grow runner beans in a pot, start by selecting a large container that is at least 12 inches deep and has good drainage.

Fill the pot with a high-quality potting mix and add some slow-release fertilizer. Then, sow the runner bean seeds about an inch deep and cover with soil. Water the soil thoroughly, and place the pot in a sunny location.

As the runner bean plants start to grow, provide them with support in the form of a trellis, stake, or netting. This will help the plants climb and prevent them from becoming too heavy and toppling over.

Make sure to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and fertilize the plants every two weeks with a balanced liquid fertilizer. As the runner beans start to mature, harvest them regularly to encourage more growth.
