Changing climate has caused and will continue to cause impacts to public health, infrastructure, emergency services, and major economic contributors like agriculture, tourism, and recreation. This means more flooding, more heat and respiratory deaths, increased disease and pests, and disruptions to our food and agricultural systems. There is value in taking action at the local and state levels and some work has already begun. Join us in learning more about the importance of local government in addressing climate change, climate action planning programs available in Pennsylvania such as the Local Climate Action Program through the PA Dept. of Environmental Protection, Cumberland County’s commitment to climate change mitigation.
