Description of music selections:
Sgt. Major Eric Parks, Music Director of United States Military Academy Band, conducts and performs with the Jazz Knights Band in a live concert at Newburgh Free Academy in New York in 1982.
Eric Parks solos on trumpet in these recordings which were made at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York with The Jazz Knights. Visuals are stock footage of the Hudson River Valley, West Point Academy and some family archival photos.
Eric Parks takes the stage with the Jimmy Sturr Orchestra and plays a powerful and moving version of "The Theme from Ice Castles".

Following his retirement from West Point, Eric played trumpet with The Jimmy Sturr Orchestra for many years. They travelled across the U.S.A. and Europe performing big band music and traditional folk music for music festivals, concert halls and TV stations. The Grammy Award winning orchestra also released many LPs and CDs with The Jimmy Sturr Band.
