Jalpaiguri Storm LIVE Updates: 5 Killed, Over 300 Injured; Mamata Banerjee Rushes To North Bengal

At least five people were killed and several others were injured on Sunday as a sudden thunderstorm and the ensuing hailstorm wreaked havoc in West Bengal's Jalpaiguri. Several houses suffered damage, trees got uprooted, as well as electric poles fell flat as gusty winds ravaged most parts of the district and many areas of neighbouring Mainaguri, the officials said. Rajarhat, Barnish, Bakali, Jorpakdi, Madhabdanga and Saptibari were among the worst-affected areas.
