Tilman Hoppstock plays Prelude No. 17 & 12 op. 114 by Ferdinando Carulli | Siccas Media

German classical guitar legend Tilman Hoppstock plays Carulli like no one else. Here is his arrangement of Preludes numbers 17 and 12 Opus 114. It is a great joy for us to share this video as part of our Siccas Media program.

Ferdinando Carulli wrote some really wonderful unknown pieces for the guitar. Here two beautiful little Preludes in an arrangement by Tilman Hoppstock. He combined both together as one piece in A-B-A form. Originally both pieces are written with the tone E on the sixth string. Hoppstock enlarged the range with a scordatura on D. Also the finish of Preludio Nr. 12 has been changed a little bit.
The harmony structure in the first Prelude (No. 17) sounds very special and maybe nobody would recognize this music as a composition by Carulli.
