Miracle Man Roger Martin Interview May 2024 @MiracleManRM

Miracle Man, Roger Martin, was diagnosed at 49 in 1993 and has long survived the expected prognosis for Idiopathic Pulmonary Hemosiderosis known as an Orphan Illness/disease. Most patients are children and the estimated incidence ranges from 0.24 to 1.23 cases per million in the world. Additionally Roger has a Companion Illness IGA Nephropathy Kidney disease.

Using acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and eventually a small amount of prednisone, Roger was kept stable for many years leading a somewhat normal life. Once he had a hernia surgery, his condition suddenly plummeted. He went from 3 liters of oxygen pulse/on demand to 8 liters per minute continuous oxygen. For perspective, a small shoulder pack oxygen tank would last him 4 hours before the surgery - now a large oxygen tank lasts 45 minutes; Roger has to manage 30 oxygen tanks per week just to go to doctors appointments, and possibly one trip to the grocery store or the post office/gas station.

His treatments are not covered by Medicare, and cost for treatment is subject to change based on supply. He has had two treatments in the last year, and survived Covid. Each treatment makes him stronger for a period of time, and the treatments build upon each other and will be needed every 2-3 months for the next 3 to 5 years.

Roger and Claudia, a Sterling couple, are hemorrhaging money. They’ve taken out loans, they’ve maxed out their credit cards and they are tapped out. As a community we are asking for your assistance via this GoFundMe page to help this Miracle Man get his health back so he can leave the house without worrying about his next breath.
